Martian Watches Enter Mass Production

Here’s a “first look” at the Martian Watches production line.

These smart watches are assembled in a “clean room” to reduce environmental contamination, so employees must enter through an airlock that removes all dust, airborne microbes, loose hair, etc (photo 1).

The PCBs are prepared and soldered (photos 2, 3), and the watch cases are unpacked and laid out for assembly (photos 4, 5).

After assembly, the watches move down the production line (photo 6) to the test jigs (photo 7). A final visual inspection is then made of the completed Martian Watch (photo 8).

Kickstarter backers’ watches are still on schedule to begin shipping in January 2013, and web store orders will start being fulfilled in February.
