Product F.A.Q
How do I know if my phone works with Martian Watch?
First find out if it has Bluetooth connectivity. If so, it’s a 90% probability you can do at least those functions listed in the “General Features” section. To know for sure, borrow a friend’s Bluetooth headset and pair it with your phone. If you can place a call by saying a name in your Contacts list, or answer a call, then Martian Watch will work with your phone.
There are a lot of Voice Command apps for Android. Do they all work with Martian Watch?
Voice Command functions on Android phones are dependent upon your device. If your phone came with an integrated Voice Command app and it works with a Bluetooth headset, it will work with Martian Watch.
Does Martian Watch only work with Siri? I have an older iPhone.
No – on the iPhone 5 and iPhone 4S, Martian Watch works with Siri, and on iPhone 4 and iPhone 3GS, it works with the integrated Voice Controls.
How do I know if I will be able to see text ID and text messages?
Text notification/display is supported with all phones that have a Bluetooth MAP profile (check your phone carrier’s web site under your phone’s “Tech Specs”). On the Android, if your phone doesn’t have a MAP profile, you can download the Martian App (The MAP profile will be available for iPhone 4S, iPhone 4, iPhone 3GS, upon download of Apple iOS 6. iPhone 5 already has it in place).
I answered a call on my Martian Watch. How do I transfer it over to my phone or Bluetooth headset?
Use your phone’s menu to choose the device where you want to transfer the call, or press and release both buttons on your Watch to disconnect Martian Watch (don’t forget to press both buttons again when you’re done to turn Martian Watch back on).
How far away can my Martian Watch be from my phone, and still stay connected?
Your Martian Watch must stay within 10-20 feet of your phone, although the distance may vary depending on your location, obstacles, etc. You will likely improve your range if there are no solid objects between your Watch and phone. If you have your wireless leash turned on, Martian Watch will notify you when you have gone out of range.
How does Martian Watch affect my phone’s battery?
Since Martian Watch connects to your phone via Bluetooth® technology, the effect on battery life will be similar to that of having a Bluetooth headset connected.
How do I charge my Martian Watch?
A micro-USB charger cable is included with your Martian Watch, so you can plug it into your computer, or into a power adapter that plugs into a wall outlet.
What kind of battery does Martian Watch use?
Martian Watch works on a lithium polymer rechargeable battery.
Is Martian Watch waterproof?
NO, Martian Watch is splash-resistant, similar to your cell phone.
Will you be supporting Windows and Blackberry phones?
Right now, Martian Watch’s general features will work with Windows and Blackberry phones, and some Blackberrys have MAP profiles, so text ID/messages will work. We are looking into MARTIAN app development for these phones, and will post an update when we have more information.
Does the analog time on my Martian Watch sync with my cell phone’s time?
No, you set the time on your Martian Watch using the watch crown, like a regular watch.
Can I put a different color or style Watch band on my Martian Watch?
Yes, any 22mm band will fit Martian Watch.
